I can honestly say I've never had, nor heard of putting mustard on Corned beef although the seasoning contains mustard seeds.

Really? Ive never had it without mustard. Dijon is my favorite but spicy mustard and stone ground work well too. To each his own I guess, my Irish family just always did it that way so I assumed it was always like that.
