OK,
I am trying to bleach horse hair lighter than the red dye I need the hair to be.
I have tried poroxide and bleach in various strengths with little change in color, if any?

Got any ideas?

Thanks, Dale

Dale, ol' buddy! Where ya been? Still cranking out the blades, I see. Yep, I'd try regular ol' peroxide like Mark says. Cheap, too.

I have been hitching and braiding horsehair since 1988 one very important thin
g do not use peroxide!!!!!!!!!! it will weaken the hair. if you need a specific color let me know or just buy white horsehair and dye it the color you want a good place to get hair in small quantities is www.hitchingpostsupply.com

The hair is naturally black/brown. What I need is to get it stop sign red for a dragons beard for a Chinese spear I am forging. Now the easiest thing to do is buy new white hair, but I have $50.00 invested into the hair I have and would hate to tell the customer I need to spend more money because I got the wrong color hair.

I figured it would be simple...not! Hell, my wife dyes her hair all the time and her natural color is dark......simple...right? argh!
