Block of natural wenge (I think it's wenge)

Feel free to correct me on the type of wood. Either way, I received it as a gift, in response to a gift I gave, but because my shop is not set up for wood working, I will move this along to someone who can work with it. The block is 5.5" x 10.25" x 1 7/8". $20 plus shipping, so $43 all in and you have several knives of material.

Update: The man who gave it to me has just stated it is wenge from Africa.
