Anyone sign up for this box? First month is December. They also have a Knife Nerd Club Max box, which I also signed up for. I haven't received any boxes yet but the YT unboxing seemed like it was decent. Since I collect mostly Buck knives, it will be different than what I'm used to. I signed up month-to-month because I want to see how it goes without committing to long term. I don't go much for stickers and such but I suppose some people do. I thought it might be fun to receive a couple of surprises every month. We will see how it works out.

If it makes you happy, and you're happy with what you get, that's all that matters.

But I can't help but think that you'll end up paying more for what you get than if you just bought it yourself, especially if you get a bunch of stuff you don't want.

Also, I noticed on their site it says "no returns". Which means if the knives you receive are defective, or you really don't like them, you're stuck with them.

And then there's the "subscription" and "auto renewal" thing, that always makes me uncomfortable. Subscription services always say "you can cancel anytime", but sometimes they make it very difficult.

But who knows, maybe it will be a great experience. I hope it works out for you.

I don’t think too many folks here will subscribe to those “knife boxes”, because I recon most of us are CONSTANTLY trying to decide EXACTLY which knife we should get next.

Having someone ELSE pick out my next knife feels kinda creepy to me - like asking the waiter to pick my dinner at a restaurant…

Looks like they sell GEC knives at elevated, secondary market prices, well above the MSRP.

I’ll pass. I hate it when an authorized dealer becomes part of the problem.

I don't think they are a GEC dealer. That's a different blue creek

Candidly speaking, when I see "subscription box", I hear "Ways to get rid of things we couldn't sell because nobody wants them."

That said, if you want to give it a shot, then by all means, please do and report back!

Those are bought elsewhere and resold. They aren’t a dealer
I guess you’re missing my point. I don’t want to do business with a vendor that takes profit from the GEC insanity beyond the prices set from the factory. It doesn’t matter if new or not, they are profiting from the mania and that doesn’t earn my trust as a business.

My $ can go elsewhere whether the box fodder is cool or not…and it mostly looks not very cool.

There was a artisian meat box I Almost subscribed to.
I kinda regret not getting it now.

Let us know how it goes, might be fun.
Have a friend that did that with alcoholic drinks. He enjoyed it.

I used to do the men's Birchbox subscription, years ago. For $20 a month I got some really cool stuff. I'm wearing the cashmere winter hat I got one month, and its my favorite winter hat. I can wear it all day and not itch.

A lot of their stuff was from up and coming brands, trying to get there name out.

This knife box I find sketchy, but I'm not really into traditional type knives.

I had an electronics box subscription for a few years (Hackerbox). It was fun but then I started getting stuff I didn't care for so I stopped it. I already got the first box. It was a Kubey Royal. Seems like a decent knife. It also had a lot of stickers and such, which I don't care about. I am mostly a Buck knife collector so getting samples of other stuff is interesting. It is month to month, so I will stop it if I start getting junk. You guys are right though. It is sort of a luxury in the sense that I am getting something I may or may not want or need. For $39/month, I will never get anything premium. They also have a more expensive box at about $150 per month.
