Just saw one on TAD. Very interesting design. Looks like just the thing for people like myself who can't legally carry a butterfly but would still like to learn to flip. Also, I thought about the possibility of using it as a kubaton. What do you guys think?

I saw a prototype and immediately notified the Filipino Martial Artists on Eskrima Digest, etc. I think that it will be great for people who live in legally repressive states (like mine). Unlike a dulled cheapo bali, nobody could seriously argue that this trainer is a cutting instrument.

The only limitation I observed on this piece of equipment is that the trainer "blades" are shorter than their live counterparts. I'm not sure that really matters much.

I don't see why they couldn't be used as impact weapons, in the same fashion as any other bali.
