Boblbee Pack -- models?

Hi all,

I had almost forgotten about Boblbee bags, but the thread here about them revived my interest! I went on Ebay, and scored a Megalopolis $99! Anyhow, I will be getting the Racing Red "sport" model -- not my first color choice, but the price was right. Is there anyone who knows what (other than color choice) might distinguish the sport models from the executive models? All I saw was that the sport models have a "Sport dedicated harness" -- that doesn't mean much to me....

Anyhow, thanks in advance for your responses! I'm really glad I've found this particular forum -- I found it fascinating that there are so many people out there like myself. (good or bad, you decide!) Before I came to this page, I'd already a daily carry set consisting of a Surefire M2, a Sebenza, a SOG Power plier, and a Photon 2 (blue). I can see myself creating my christmas list from the stuff you guys post!

Thanks again,
Rajiva

jeeves,

According to Boblbee:

The Sport packs are similar in design to Megalopolis except there is no separate compartment for a laptop, the phone pocket matches the color of the hard-shell and the base of the harness is padded orange plastic to allow for extra comfort.

A couple of weeks ago I got the Megalopolis "2Blue" (glossy metallic dark blue, what a beautiful color) and Peoples Delite "Jack" (glossy jet black). They're cool packs. Unfortunately for me, my massive IBM Thinkpad T20 will NOT fit EITHER of them. :( Very disappointing.

I got the Megalopolis for travel and hiking, and Peoples Delite for going to work and carrying my stuff for volleyball. I haven't had the guts to bring it to work yet though. :o

I'll be interested to see your review!

Thanks for the responses, guys!

Skyline, I appreciate the info. You may be interested to hear that I just heard back from the folks at Boblbee, and although the "Sport" is lacking a laptop pocket, it DOES have a velcro strap for retaining a laptop. Perhaps the "Sport" model is for you! FYI, the Sport model has NO internal pockets, according to Mara at Boblbee.

After hearing this, I decided that I didn't want the "Sport" Racing Red model that I'd just won off Ebay for $99. Lo and behold, I found a full featured Megalopolis in a metallic blue for the same price, so I bought it as well!! (Here's the dumb part) The "Sport" Boblbee just showed up, and guess what, the seller didn't know what he had, and actually sent me a regular red ("Inferno") Boblbee! By tomorrow or Wednesday, I should have two of the same frikken bags, one metallic blue, one red.

I'll be sure to do a review when the second bag comes. (I'm waiting to see which color I prefer before using the bag). I'll be glad to offer the one I don't use to the group for the price I paid ($99 + shipping) before I put it on Ebay.

Stay tuned for the review -- should be up sometime after Thanksgiving!
