I ran across some Bokers best I can tell they are made by Wiss, are they good quality and were fakes made of them?

All I know is I have some older Wiss scissors, best little scissors ever. Superb quality.
Yard sale find!

Photos of the knives would be helpful. Without photos, you can't really talk about the authenticity. In general, the quality was pretty good but a specific answer would require photos.

Wiss owned Boker from 1969 to 1978.

Wiss-marked knives were made by Boker USA for Wiss. Wiss only made scissors. Wiss bought Boker USA in 1969. Wiss was the parent company of Boker from 1969 until about 1975 when Cooper bought them both.

I have a whittler made by Boker with Wiss markings, with the original wrapper. Even the wrapper is identical to the Boker wrappers of the period.

I guess my real question is are they as good as their current made in Germany tree brand stuff?

Boker has been around a long time and has a long history in the USA. Some of their knives are top notch. The knives that you've picked out are more "economical" choices in my opinion. They should be well constructed but the cover materials are not as high quality. And from what I see in the photos, the primary grinds are not as nice as some of the older and newer Bokers. This is common with economy knives. The knives that you've picked out would not be equivalent to a Solingen made Boker in my opinion. The modern Boker company does not make all of their knives in Germany.

Two of them are small knives. I know you didn't ask about value and it's not allowed but keep in mind that in general small knives have lower demand and market values.

Well thanks for the help I will probably be avoiding them then, there are similar quality vintage knives to be had for less and better quality vintage to be had for the same price it seems.

Good decision.
Might be going up one rail here as we round the bend
-but i find the whole Boker (or whoever owns it nowadays) corporate obfuscation "made in..." "assembled in.." policy insulting to the intelligence of the customers.Like they care about that....
AG Russell on the other hand for instance has the good taste to be open about where their knives are made and it is stated clearly. Having purchased both brands in the past I can honestly say AGR has a lot more bang for your bucks.

I'm not so sure these were intentional as they are older but who knows, the price wasn't too expensive but being the budget line I felt with the new found info I can do better with buying other brands regular stuff for the same price in any case.

True. I'm not saying any of them are sub par. If you can find old Bokers they will have been actually made in Germany or America and the quality will be there.
I just hate fog and mist surrounding where my money goes.
That said -take a look at the price of some Bokers compared to other Bokers and you will notice a trend.
but enough a my yackin -enjoy the product.
cheers.
