Hey guys, I am very interested in this knife and was wondering how it holds up to everyday use. I am considering the tan colored kalashnikov auto and have found it for a good deal at only 37 bucks. Anybody have any feedback on it and how the blade lasts/keeps its edge??

thanks!

I have the AK74 warcliffe (reverse tanto), action is great, grip is great, heardware is snazzy. Amazing knife for the price, almost NO bladeplay. Blade material is AUS8 (strong edge retaining steel). sits low in pocket via clip.

Trust me and buy it.
(the box is a AK47 magazine :jerkit: )

i have the gray and black auto. and short of the black coating wearing a bit its a great knife. a little blade play, but not bad at all!

Just remember, we do not sell autos, so if it is auto, it was converted after the fact.

Yes, but it's really easy to convert them into automatics.

Not with the newer models, unless you are ready to mill out the handles.
We had to do a redesign, so it takes some work to accomplish it.

Terry. without asking you to state something you can not post in a public forum, did Customs request the modification to the knife to make it harder to just drop in a spring?

Without sounding to obtuse, kind of. But it wasn't official, yet.

hey eneyman,

I have one of the tan AK's that I've carried and used everyday for going on 4 years now. It gets used on a daily basis and the blade has held up well. I sharpen it probably once a month or so, and it holds its edge well. The grip is showing wear from riding clipped into my front pocket, and something in my pocket seems to have worn a groove into it at one point. My best guess is it must be the Zippo in the watch pocket.

Mine does have a spring in it and as long as you keep the crud out of it (not really a problem if your using it everyday), it usually opens with authority. It does have a little play in the blade, but its not bad. I got mine off a dealer (sans the spring) on EBay for around $25.

Indeed, mine is a Tan also. It has NO blade play and was $37.00 too.
Great blade, sharp as any knife I own. Takes a fast keen hair poppin edge.
Buy it!

Peace.

well, I traded one of my knives for a new Kalashnikov auto, gray handle w/black part serrated blade.. can't wait to get it in the mail ;)
