Spoiler alert ... this knife has a fundamental flaw in the design, hence the 3 star review, but I will get to that bit later.

Okay let's cover the pros about this knife.
1. Good steel for the price.
2. Butter smooth deployment to the point I thought it was assisted. I have no knowledge of the previous iteration of this knife so no comparisons there. The pivot contributes very much to this.
3. Great price! It's a breath of fresh air when you hear of knives with this kind of price point in this day and age of crazy price points.
4. Razor sharp out of the box.

Now the bad stuff ... cons:

1. The fundamental flaw in design: When you close the blade, because of the size of the blade, your hand can get cut if you rub it along the groove on the opposite end. How do I know this ? I cut myself two times doing that! Thank god the cuts were just superficial, just enough to see red liquid for a few minutes. Because of this too I would be wary to place this knife deep in the pocket as there was too many times than I am comfortable to find some strange lint on the edge of the knife. I have yet to examine my trouser pants pocket for cuts so I cannot confirm. I take two stars from the knife because of this.

2. The "button" at the back can be a tad slippery when your hands are sweaty, so opening can be almost impossible during these times.
3. There is only one position for the clip.
4. No gimping anywhere, so this knife is relegated to being your gentleman's knife used for light tasks.
5. A tad heavy for it's size.

Here is the picture of the knife:

The placement of the cutting edge was an issue with the first kwaiken too. I had the orange bladehq version and the exposed edge when closed was one of the reasons I sold it, even after some expense of having it pimped.

What did you do to pimp it ?

I had it pimped by alex dietz. The flipper mod and a zirc backspacer. Main other reason I got rid of it was how it carried in pocket. The clip isn't very deep, and the shape of the knife made it feel like carrying a small tube in my pocket. It is hard to explain, but due to the shape of the knife, it felt like it wanted to "roll" in my pocket even when clipped to my pants. Nice knife to fondle, but carrying was a no go, so I sold it.

I had one of the first ti versions I think it was aus 8 , it's a sexy knife but too heavy bad flipper (too small) and you had to keep an eye on every one of the ikbs bearings when taking apart.
