I have the oportunity to purchase the larger and the smaller one. The only other china made knife I have is the cryo 1 and a spyderco made in japan. they are excellent knives and will be keeping both, but I have never owned a Boker. Let alone the plus. Would you buy them and why?

im not meaning to bash but i can only talk about my experience with boker and it wasnt great. i ordered the boker subcom titan pro and when it arrived the blade was really off center, so i wrote to knife depot hoping to do an exchange and they said that all the others were the same so i should just do a return. i really liked the way it looked so i wanted to get one so i ordered another from bladehq. this one wasnt quite as bad, so i used the little wrench they provided to reposition the clip. i loosened one of the three clip screws easily, but when i went to adjust the other two, they both stripped immediately. i dont know if they were in too tight or what, but i know how to take out a screw without stripping it and these screws may not have been good quality. anyway, i sent it back for an exchange, this time the person at blade hq took it out of the box to see if the blade was centered and the lock up was good, i forgot ot mention the lock up on the others i got was bad, so hopefully this one is good, but whether it is or not i dont know if ill try to get another boker

I have about a half dozen knives from the Boker Plus line, both folders and a fixed blade. I don't have an Excalibur, but the last one I bought was a Vox Rhino in stag.

As far as folders I have an Epicenter and a few smaller button lock folders from the elegance line. Most of their knives in the plus series use good materials like carbon fiber, titanium, etc. And the 440C they use is fine for my applications ( I still consider 440C to be good steel so it's not a negative)

I've been satisfied with the fit and finish of all of them. Also on the knives I've bought, the blades all have a nice satin finish that gives them a custom look. IMO they look more expensive than they cost.

I'm going to be getting the mini Vanquish soon, the specs look good on that one too.

Unfortunately it looks like the subcom has mixed reviews for quality issues. Too bad ... you're right the concept and design is nice.

I would buy those, and have thought about it multiple times. I have the Mini Vanquish and its a great knife. As stated above they use great materials with good quality steel at a competitive price. I have read good reviews on Boker's 440C, and have no reason to snob that steel. The Exkelibur looks like a great knife for the price as an EDC and if I found a great deal on one I would not hesitate.

I also have a Boker Plur Rambler fixed blade on me right now. It was a great price for a fun little blade. about $25 for black/blue G10 handles and 440C blade.

I have the Exskelibur and it's a really nice slicey thing. No quality problems at all. Also have not had any problems with my Boker Plus XS or Trance 42, or any of my several fixed blades. The Valkyrie in particular is superb.

I'd not hesitate to buy Boker again....

I would give the Boker Plus line a 3.5 out of 5 rating and the Boker (Tree Brand) line a 2 out of 5. I have never owned any knives from the Magnum line. In my experience the Plus line has had better quality than their Solingen made knives. I currently own the Boker Plus Kwaiken which as perfect fit and finish and a Boker Plus Elegance which has some blade play but not terrible. Your mileage may vary... Boker makes a lot of very cool knives and does some good collaborations with knife makers, I just wish they executed a little better.

My ocworker has the Exskelibur, it's gorgeous, zero issues regarding fit and finish, tight lockup too. Never know it was made in China.

Thanks for the response, I'll probably get them. One problem is that the smaller one has a broken corner on the right side scale, so they are used. Anyone have problems with their customer service?
