Hello,
I've been eying the Savannah knife for awhile, but cannot find any reviews or information on this particular model outside of Boker's webpage. The one other picture I've found of the Savannah was on heinnie.com's product listing (www.heinnie.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=0&P_ID=3045). While it may be due to camera angles and lighting, the pics there in comparison to the official stock photo seem somewhat different (Boker's stock photo does not reveal ANY red lining apart from that on the guard, and the handles seem darker). Maybe one of these knives were an older model?

In either case, I was wondering whether anyone here had any experience with this blade and could perhaps share a few additional pictures of it?

The Savannah definitely has a red line!
It is true, maybe was the angle on our website not that good. The pics was taken by Heinnie Haynes, so he used a different angle, than we did.

The canvas micarta has a light green and gray tone, it is not black.

I hope this helps.

Please forgive my ignorance as I have no idea what N690B0 steel is. Is it similar to D2?

Thank you for the information Maarten.
So far only Boker and Heinnie are selling Boker Savannah knife. Does this actually reflect you guys' opinion about this knife?

Its a new model just on the market. I like it .

Living in an urban setting i won't have much use for it as i don't hunt and camping not much lately..

Could Boker Savannah knife handle slicing job adequately or it had better be used for prying, considering its blade thickness is 3/8”. ?

it'll do a pretty good allround job, certainly, you won't be able to slice Parma ham or Serrano into mm thick slices, but preparing a meal in the wood, peeling an able or something... won't be a problem.

Just a quick note, you should never use a knife for prying.
Knives are made for cutting, and prying will damage your knife.
Thanks, Terry

Thank you for the reminder Terry,
But it's very tempting when you hold something that strong.

Oh trust me, I understand. Partially through experience:(

The Savannah is a great cutter, and slices surprisingly well.
Thanks,
T

It is flat ground, I just asked the engeneer, you made it, cause I don't have a knife on my desk... not this specific one...
I guess I have roughly 13 CLB on my desk :D:D:D

Good knife but 3/8" must be a typo because the Savannah I got was definitely not that thick. The sheath is the open type. Like Puuokos have. The tip is pretty strong. However there is no way the blade is 3/8ths of an inch thick. If you ask me if this knife was actually that thick it would be way too thick.

I wish i had a job where i could keep 13 CLB's on my desk.
;)

thanks for the responses.
I still got an eye on this knife, but have yet to see any other info/pictures of it. If possible I would try to see the blade in person but I don't know where to find this, or any boker for that matter, locally

If anyone can upload a few more shots of this blade I'd be grateful!!

Check our website or the Boker USA website to see, where the nearest dealer is located...

I can post a pic, but as you've said, you need to touch it. This has more value than posting several pics...

Good luck!

I strongly agree that a knife should be held before it is purchased. However this may or may not always be an option, and I would like to see more than one stock photo of it before taking the much deeper effort in searching it out.

There is not much information on this product nor is there any current review. I am certain any pictures you can provide will help me and other potential buyers with their decision

I have contacted several dealers in search of more information on this product, but to no avail. I would truly appreciate it if you could provide more photos (especially packaging, blade at different angles, next to a ruler, etc) and perhaps other info (width of blade guard, other dimensions, etc) not listed in the extremely brief summary provided by the website

I hope I am not asking for too much. and thanks again for your responses
