Does anyone here have one or have any experience with one?

I'm thinking of getting one just for yuks, and seriously thinking of the .45/.410 one. Line of thought that the .420 may be useful hiking in snake country with the shot shells. Wondering how they kick in comparison to a light weight J frame Smith and Wesson .38 with +p loads?

Also intrigued at how quick barrels can be changed out for other calibers.

Well, my friend, I bought one some time ago and have only fired it with the .410 ammo. I got the longest barrel available and the trigger guard. The trigger pull out of the box was horrible and was corrected to a degree by having a new spring set furnished by Bond at no charge and installed locally at my expense. Much improvement, but still not great.

With .410 shot shells the kick is much more than I expected and I have competed with shot guns all my life in all gauges.

Since I have pretty well lost interest in the little gun I don't know how fast and easy the barrel change is, but it looks to be pretty straight forward and easy. The gun is really well made of superior material and the fit and finish on mine was very good.

My major gripe was the horrible trigger pull.

My American Derringer is .45/.410 and while not the make you inquired about the handling of such is generic in my opinion. A handful with 45 Colt or .410. I used mine in Cowboy Action shooting side matches....good for style points or shooting a second dealing card sharp across or under the table.

I use a 1911 with CCI shot for them no shoulder fellows.

Best.

.410 or 45 Colt don't sound very fun out of a gun that small. I'll stick with a Governor or Judge for that.

I've fired a few. A few friends had them. They've mostly been traded off now. They got them for yuks too. Well made, but fairly expensive for a yuks gun, and their novelty wears away pretty quickly too. The recoil is easily managed but the triggers suck.

I have thought about getting one for summer carry but after holding one I figured my G23 is about the same weight. Know a couple people that have one and for the most part they like them, one told me he bought his for the same reason I thought of and said it was no easier to carry. If I was going to buy a Derringer it would be a Bond.

I've got one and have shot it a lot. For the 410 barrels the extended grips make a huge difference. The barrel change takes about 30 seconds at most just one allen screw out and then back in, really easy. The trigger was rough on mine at first too, new spring from bond and a a few hundred rounds and its smooth and fun to shoot now. 45 colt and 38special are easy shooting in it, 357 is a bit more brisk and whacks your palm pretty good. I've used it in cowboy action side matches too with a special..you can watch the bullet fly load.

Not necessarily with the Bond manufacturers but I know that derringers in general do a great job at blowing the user's index fingers off.....

Yeah, co-worker had to respond to a home invasion/shots fired call, where the home owner chased off the intruder with a single shot [he missed the intruder] but blew his own index fingertip off when he pulled the trigger with his middle finger....

The grips on most derringers are too small or too oddly shaped to get a comfortable and stable shooting grip. If you get one, please be careful.

Good quality gun....i had one and sold it..too heavy for only 2 shots..i am thinking about getting another one in a different caliber...maybe 357...to use as a gun for my late night store runs...love derringers though....i still have a cobra 38, davis 22, and a sundance 22..
