Sharing some information and sending some wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery to Bookie.

Seems he took a spill at o dark thirty Tuesday morning (probably starting up the forge) and turns out his back is broken.

I'm awaiting more detailed information. Sounds like he's not joining me in the chair and is still vertical just in a lot of pain.

It's worked in the past, everybody please send your healing via any means.

If anyone is into voo doo like Bookie hisself, pull them pins out of his back.

God bless! Hope his recovery goes well.

A "broken back" is pretty scary. I hope it's not too bad, and that Bookie recuperates fully and quickly.

Speaking as somewhat of an authority I think it's actually a good thing that he's in such pain.
That means the nerves and spinal cord are intact.
Guess they gave him some wonder drugs to alleviate the pain at least some.
He'll heal, the pain will diminish and life will be good.

Hi, guys. I'm up for a few minutes and wish to thank you for the support. Only been like this one other time after crashing in inverted and my back landing on the only big rock in at least a hunnert miles. This laying on your back day in and day out is for the birds. Yes, the back is actually broken, but it is holding together as long as I'm super careful. Been told I get to wear some stylish new togs next week that never get wrinkled. The meds work, but are prone to make your stomach really upset. They've added another starting tomorrow....'bout the size of a quarter, I'd say. But all that being said, I'm lucky and not feeling sorry for myself ('cept the wife finally has me where she wants me) and things will get better. Hopefully that new tuxedo will let me get out of the house and start buggin' you once again. Cheers to all.

I had to wear one of those wrinkle free suits for about 6 months. Great for sticking sticky notes and such. You can take knives and poke yourself and it don't hurt.
Kind of limits your flexibility considerable but I think that's part of the plan.

Glad to hear your up even for a little while. Positive energy being sent your way. Get well sir and don't over do anything for a good long while. Backs take Time

Glad to hear from you Bookie. Take care old man (from another, so I think OK to say ;)). I suspect your wife will be wanting you elsewhere soon enough, so you'll beat that too. :)

Cheers, Ray

Glad your doing better Doc! Scarry stuff when it comes to the back and neck. Thats payback for dropping that Uke from the tree ya know:rolleyes: Like the Uke youll be perfect very soon! Get well and keep us updated brother. Let them mules carry stuff around for ya for a while.

Hi guys! Things are looking up....I think. Different meds and sleight of hand going on. They determined that a cast would not do me any good because of the nature of the beastie. Must also see a heart specialist in a week. Seems as that the new meds can cause heart attacks rather sudden like. Looks like a long ride ahead. It's really cooled off in these parts and am more than ready to go back into the blacksmith shop. Have 6 swords in the works and one to temper. This gimping around and whining kinda sets me back for a bit. Cheers, Bookie
