I decided to have a bit of fun with this one. The concept started with the handle – while doodling in my notebook, I sketched something resembling a cracked bone. I liked the idea and chose a suitable piece of wood. Then I added a ferrule reinforcement (something I’ve been wanting to try for a while), and I leaned into a more “ritualistic” vibe overall and here it is - The Brigid

The blade made of 80CrV2 steel, 1/4" mm thick, both edges are sharp. The finish is mix of acids and cold bluing to match antique vibe of the handle.

The guard and reinforcement are made of antiqued steel, spacer and pins are made of hammered brass, the handle is made of stabilized wood with hand carved "crack" on the end.

Hand tooled and hand stitched leather sheath with reinforcement traditional pins and runic pattern.

Dimensions: 12 19/32” (32 cm) overall and 7 7/8” (20 cm) of the blade.

Price: $649 including shipping to US. I accept PayPal, Revolut, Wise or standard IBAN transfer.

Cheers!

Wow. Another beauteous dagger! If I hadn't just blown the budget in an art glass auction... of course, if I hadn't we'd already be talking about that Agravain dagger, another beauty. You are a talented designer and maker, sir!

...A matching spearhead is not a bad idea, is it? Certainly they would fit together well!
