As you may know, black G-10 scales have a way of dulling and graying and even developing mild white spots with use over time.

Do any of you makers or others have a tip on bringing the sheen and dark color back to them?

I was thinking maybe mineral oil but I haven't tried it yet.

"I" use oil. Usually pivot oil, but mineral oil sounds good.

Mineral oil will make a huge difference.
Excellent for re-conditioning G10 and good all around knife lube.
It's also non-toxic for kitchen use, all I use on all my EDC knives.

Mineral oil can't hurt G10 and it likely will restore the sheen, though you will have to re-oil it on a regular basis.

The resin in G10 is epoxy, which suffers surface degradation from UV light (not to mention micro-scratches which can produce the same effect as porosity.). The surface becomes roughened, so it loses its gloss. And it can form white spots because of surface porosity. The oil will fill in any porous areas and they will "disappear". It shouldn't take much. As the oil gets removed through use, the porosity will again begin to show, so you will need to oil it again at that point.

Oil or no, the degradation is only at the surface, so the handle remains strong no matter what.
