I'm thinking about buying one or both of these items. Does anyone have any thoughts on these (usefullness as home protection)? I see that the Assissin is much heavier and longer, but maybe I need both anyway... what do you think?

Get them for sheer novelty, not home protection. A polypro club is just about the last thing I would reach for, only slightly above a bare fist--powerful flashlights and firearms are tops for home defense. That said, the polypro line has some fun pieces. I use the Dragon Cane as a walking cane in inclement weather, and I carry the boomerang in my trunk. When my boys get a ball or a toy stuck in a tree at a park, it hits with great force and can knock them down or break branches to free them. I really want the cricket bat too, but I keep blowing the budget on knives and axes. One thing to keep in mind when making your choice is to take a quick look at your local laws about possessing law enforcement paraphernalia; some locales get twitchy about "police truncheons."

Some people carry baseballs and gloves underneath their “Louisville Sluggers” so they don’t have to make the argument. Not that police in every jurisdiction would “play ball.”

I'm thinking that the CS Police Truncheon won't be in production too much longer. I really don't know why I want one, but I just ordered one.

I've decided to wait on the Assassin. Reviews say that the grip is uncomfortable. Anyone?

Also, I used to hate all the CS plastic weapons, but I also ordered a plastic stiletto trench knife. Ever since seeing the movie "Psycho", I'm never 100% comfortable in the shower...

For years after that movie came out you could buy shower curtains with a clear plastic panel set in as a window, so you could see the murderers approaching. And the grip on the Liverpool would be an instant casualty....with all the great athletic grip options for what is essentially a piece of sports equipment, I would upgrade.

Anxiously awaiting my British Police Truncheon.. and thinking about buying a Liverpool Assassin also...

To be honest, of all the Polypro club type items they have, my favorite is still the indian war club..... that thing just feels.... good in the hand, and swings with excessive lethal force.

Being able to focus the entire force of the impact into a small area via ball headed contact is a game changer imho....

I think you're right about the War Club. I've never had one in hand, but it looks like CS has made a design change with a longer metal impact point. It looks like it would be "game over" for the recipient...

Thanks, Hawgsnawt. I just ordered one from Midway on sale for $25. And you planted the evil seed in my head!

Go online and order a real wooden Irish hurley stick, called a camás. Fast, light, and a great conversation piece.

Between the two, I think that I'd prefer the police truncheon. The liverpool assassin seems a bit too end heavy, doesn't it? It would have more power, but it would take longer to recover your guard from a swing, especially a miss.

Returned the Police Truncheon, I really didn't like anything about it. But I do have an Indian War Club on the way... much better for keeping near the back door.
