It's blade I hand forged of 5160, carbon steel.
The handle is made of fossilized bog oak and carved bronze.
The total length is 36.5 cm / 14.5 inch and the blade is 23.5 cm / 9.5 inch long, 4.2 cm wide and 5 mm thick

Real nice job mate, really like the sheath too😎
Thanks for sharing.

Love your knife style. Primitive in an absolutely medieval way, and I mean that to be one of the highest compliments I can give.
When I was reading the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings as a kid back in the 1970's I dreamed of your knives. Whether hero or villian, the blades in their hands looked like what you create.
Still waiting for just the right one of yours to come along, but if I had the cash I'd own a dozen by know. Thanks for the inspiration, and the flashbacks. You consistently make my day when you drop a new knife on the forum.

Keep pounding, man. Thunder in the deep. I can hear the drumming.

Thanks! :) comparing my humble stuff to the masterpieces of the legendary Tolkien, is the nicest comment I have ever received! Wish I have a minuscule fraction of the vast imagination, he had.
Probably it's not a surprise, but I am also a big fan :D
Let me know if something catches your eye ;)

All of them catch my eye, but I’ll let you know when I see the one with my name on it.

Thanks again. Truly inspired blades. I love your vision of what knives should be. Utility is great, but there needs to be an element of legend and destiny to raise a blade from the level of useful tool to the category of cherished possession. Useful tools can be replaced. Cherished possessions cannot .

Yeah, the concept of an heirloom is a dear one to me. :)
I try to surround myself with things which either have a story, or which could make me imagine one myself.

what did you use to make the pattern in the bolster? that is an interesting little touch, and I can't figure out exactly what shape the tool was that did that. It looks like maybe there are double and single impressions from it. Or, I just can't make sense of the pattern. Creative. The sheath is also really well done.

Glad you like it!
I used a small rotary tool with old dentist's drill bits, made a looong time ago in Czechoslovakia :D
If you hold them in an angle it can carve these nice little groves into soft metals. Not strong enough for steel unfortunately, but bronze or aluminium is manageable and bone is actually a piece of cake for it.
