Gents I ordered these scales recently off Etsy.

Because I'd like to have a modern that matches my F&F GEC's as well as my phone case. (yes I know none of that is important to anyone but me)

I was perusing the big auction site and saw this:

Those will closely match the brass pins that hold the traditional knives together. I figure I could acid wash the blade and liners to give it some "patina" but I'm not going to do all that and spend the money if I have to put shiny silver screws in it to hold it together which leads to the question.

Is there somewhere I can buy copper/brass/bronze colored screws?

I don't know of anywhere, but you can heat anodize your OEM fasteners on an electric stove eye that will give them a rich bronze, kinda case hardened appearance that I think you're looking for...lots of YouTube videos on the subject, check em out.

Just remember that screws are heat treated to prevent stripping. You can bronze steel screws with a torch. Its not really anodizing though as it is not the same process. Still when you heat color any steel piece after heat treat you run the risk of compromising that heat treat as you are bringing the temp to the point of color change. Now I have done this and as long as you take care not to over torque you can still get many years out of compromised screws. Just make sure you use a large heat sink on the threads to hopefully keep the threads from being compromised. If you can find titanium screws you can heat color all day long without much worry but te threads arent as strong to begin with. Another option would be to use black screws as they look a lot better on bronze than silver.

There is a seller on eBay that makes aftermarket Ti Screws for the PM2. I would suggest picking up a set and sending the clip, backspacer, and screws to a someone to re-anodize so the bronze matches.

Thank's!!

I just tried it on another knife and it works like a charm just a few seconds over the gas stove gives it a nice bronze color.

just remember those screws no longer have any heat treat. Don't over torque them or they will strip.

You might check with MXG Gear. They carry a lot of screws for ZT and a few hardware parts for Spyderco. They might be able to help you out. I've had good luck with any MXG Gear parts.
