Moving this to a separate thread from the "Newest Buck Knife" thread.
There were 6 Knives in Browning's Living History Series.

001 Liberty Tree Knife released Oct 2006
002 Alamo Knife
003 Robert E Lee Knife 2008 Special Projects List model 611
004 Eisenhower Knife 2008 Special Projects List model 612
005 Crazy Horse Knife Obsidian Blade
006 Vietnam Knife 2007 Special Projects List model 610

Of note is that all the knives except the Crazy Horse are listed as 420HC blade Steel.

3 of the 5 steel bladed knives are listed in the Special Projects lists and since all 5 are listed as 420HC to me is strong evidence that Buck made the Liberty Tree and Alamo knives also. I had intended over the years to inquire with Joe Houser about this but missed the opportunity.

All of the knives had wood handles that came from trees with some connection to the historical event.

I wonder who made the Obsidian bladed knife.

Of other interest is that some of Browning's Master Smith series knives can also be found on the Special Projects Lists. Note that Buck's model numbers are not the same as Browning's.

Thanks for the information DeSotoSky DeSotoSky .

I found the description for 006 knife, which describes the wood used for the knife:

Browning Vietnam Commemorative Knife. To commemorate the service and sacrifice of the soldiers who served their country in Vietnam, this beautiful Viewnam Veterans Commemorative knife is reminiscent of the knife favored by members of the MACVSOG. The knife features Khan Hin wood from the Ho Chi Minh trail. 6 3/4" 420HC stainless blade. This knife is limited to only 1975 pieces to commemorate the year the Vietnam War ended.

Country of Origin: USA

SPECIFICATIONS:

Blade Material: 420HC Stainless Steel
Blade Style: Bowie
Blade Finish: Satin, Engraved
Handle Material: Khan Hin Wood
Brass Bolsters and Butt Cap

LIVING HISTORY SERIES # BR006 Vietnam

Some of the leftover blades from the Vietnam Bowie were made by Joe Houser into special limited runs.
There were 3 variations as described in the included COA's. 10 in black phenolic, 10 in elk stag, and 10 in cherrywood for a total of 30 made.
I have the elk and the black phenolic as well as a possible sample, leftover, or prototype of the Browning version with wood handle.
I hope to find the cherrywood version at some point. Anyone out there have one to show?
