Just got done with this one. This was my first attempt at hollow grinding so I wanted to try something different. It sports a hollow grind that transitions to a full convex towards the bell and tip. Sorta kinda like Strider's Nightmare grind. The handle is maroon linen micarta with flared rivets and is heavily influenced by Busse Combat knives.

I think you did a good job with the hollow grind. What size wheel did you use?

I think it is a 10" Wheel or was it a 12" Wheel???? It came with my KMG when I bought it as a set. Rarely ever use it so I can't remember exactly :o

Did you convex the edge on the hollows? Are ya gonna try it out or do ya need someone to help ya?

The edge on the hollow ground portion is convexed and flows into the full convex belly and tip

Nicely finished and an interesting grind. It seems like that hollow is pretty deep, so I'm wondering what the other side look like?

The grind is pretty deep because the blade is slightly over 1/4" thick :D The other side is the same as the side shown.

That looks excessively practical! I bet it slices and dices like the best but that tip won't likely ever fail on you. Awesome grinding! (and I love that micarta! :D)

I tried a double grind once and I tell you what I am impressed by yours. Your "caught in a small area and have little movement to work with. Great job.

That blade is .270 thick and sickly LIGHT! It also has a secret, BAN is not telling!

hahaha....I forgot to mention that the handle tang is milled out to reduce weight by my buddy Horton :D In addition I also tapered the tang to get it even lighter.

I like it, it's sorta like a drop point version of Allen Elishewitz' Pirate, which has more of a clip point to it. Nothing cuts like a hollow grind but it makes the tip quite thin, this is a nice balance of the two. What's the blade steel?
