I Really love my 110 drop point manual. Any idea if or when they will offer the auto version in this blade shape? This would be an instant buy for me.

Finger grooves on the 110s would be welcome but that means yet more knives.
I would like to be able to retire, you know...
Those can be had.
Someone is modifying them and selling them.
.....probably lose any warranty as a result of the modification, I'm not sure.

We have tried to cut in finger grooves in the autos a couple of different ways without ruining the handle inlay. The 110 and 112 auto have 4 inlay pins on the button side because the material was getting to thin and with multiple revolutions of the blade it would start to lift. Cutting in the finger grooves makes this worse and we can only go so deep because of the 4th pin.

While I'm here, there is a LOT of confusion over auto knives.
I work for the state gov't but not in an outdoors or law enforecement capability.
I live in PA and they've recently re-legalized auto knives.
Can this knife be ordered from Buck and then shipped UPS or FedEx?
It would be crossing state lines but not using the USPS.

Ok, so finger grooves are out, I hope that the drop point blade is still up for consideration.

Before we could not sell autos on our website which made it darn near impossible to sell CKS autos but now that we worked that out it's a possibility. There are some things to consider but mostly capacity. We keep our Custom Knife Shop builders humming all year now so adding in models is not that feasible. Currently training up new knife makers to help fill in the gap.

This topic inspired me to get my 110 Auto Elite out last night and play with it for a while. It needed some lube! I don't carry or use it much. It's no problem legally where I live, but sometimes I forget about everything I am carrying on my person and some of the places I visit autos are a no-go.

I had no idea autos were illegal in PA for a while, I had one in my pocket every day.
How would I know? I bought them in PA years ago and it's not like anybody sent me a post card about it.

If they do a Custom 110 Auto I've got two picked out in my head: a water buffalo with nickel and drop point, a cherrywood with nickel and S30V satin clip point.
Better crack the whip on those new knifemakers.
Break time's over, back to work!

My 110 Auto Elite is firing harder today. I think the lube wicked into tight places overnight.

I also noticed that:

* The sheath is made in USA and is a little "boxier" than the sheath that comes with the standard 110.
* Inserting and drawing from the sheath has scratched the forward bolster (non-switch side). I think it is rubbing on the back of the male side of the snap because it protrudes a little inside the sheath.
* I like knives.
