Seems there is no option on Buck site to get the 112 with N/S bolsters. Has this option been gone for a while and if so why?

I don't believe it was ever an option from the custom shoppe. If it was it must have been quite a while back and short lived. The only ones I've seen have been limited runs or over runs. I picked one up on the bay some years ago (believe it was an over run) and I think I have one that was a build out from a couple of years ago that was offered to BCCI members.

So, the Custom shop does not offer a nickel frame for the 112.? When Buck allowed the first 112 custom shop run, perhaps 5 years ago. Did they offer the nickel frame? DM

Yes David, when Buck opened the CS for the short run of custom 112's NK was an option.

Then only as an old CS option or an over run, not a standard option choice when not going through the CS.

It's a long time ago Buck offered standard 112 with NS frame. But they are out there. From time to time you may find one at the big auctioneer.

It has been stated above by Herbert, Buck has issued NK 112's for there regular catalog as Limited editions from time to time. Also, customers would place special orders for re-sale NK 112's, a few of these even have finger grooves. There have been thousands of these NK knives made over the years. Therefore, they are not rare but are just less common. Keep your eye open and you will find them if you search for them.

Here is an NK LE issued by Buck in their catalog.

Here is some NK SOs
BCCI SOs

Old DU SO (finger groove NK)

Custom Shop NK 112s (I had these made with NK & finger grooves)

Great collection, JB. :)

Thank you Haebbie!

There is one NK 112 that was issued year after year out of the Buck catalog. The 25th Anniverary 110 & 112 had NK frames and blade etch. The old timers can tell you new guys....there is something unique about this 112!

Confirmed: yes, the NS frame 112s have their own charme.

Bought at the 25th BCCI anniversary meeting.

John, Yes. (You are baiting us.) Those 25 year 112's were a mistake. The 110's were 25 years old in 1989. But Not the 112's. Those were well received as 110's and somebody said, hey, why not do a run of 112's. So, they did. It was a whoops. A very handsome collection of 112's. Thanks for sharing them. DM

My wife gave me one the first year we were married for Christmas, and it has NS bolsters, I think it was made in 93'

I found a 1996 112 with NS but lost the bid, someone got a great looking knife. Only thing I did not like was the cordura sheath but would have replaced with a black leather one with silver colored snap, would have looked good. Had nice wood scales to, did not look like diamond wood.

Here is a nickel frame 112 with stone wash S30V blade and cow bone scales. With the small nail nick. Which my wife adorned with her scrimshaw. Then gave it to me for a birthday present. DM

I got one about the same time. The big retail store everyone likes to hate carried them for about one year.

Thank you guys for the pictures and info. Great looking Bucks and appreciated.
