Hello fellow Buck People.

I have several Buck Knives from way back to now but don't have a 113 Skinner. Are the brass bolsters solid? anyone have one of these fine looking knives? I s the Ebony Dymondwood a good reliable handle material?

Thanks in advance.

I also have a desire for a 113!
Anyone care to expound on new vs old?
Also, did I dream it, or was this a popular outlaw motorcyle club member carry knife once upon a time?

I'm not up on outlaw motor cycle clubs, but "once upon a time" would have to be no earlier than 2011.

You can exercise your sweet little imagination at Buck's Custom Shop where right before your very eyes you can easily build your own 113 skinner with say S30V blade steel and buffalo horn handle. Or other combos. Fun to do buy or not.

Dymondwood is stabilized wood. Wood impregnated with resin in order to help resist many of the problems unstabilized wood encounters as time and tides roll on (water & oil which can both cause swelling for example).

The Buck 113, as most knives built in the Buck tradition, is a well made knife and is well suited to skinning a game animal. For my preferences I do find the blade is a little short and wide for deboning the meat and the handle is too short for extended use comfort (like the Buck 105/118 size handle better). I would use the Buck 113 to skin and a Buck 118 or Buck 105 to debone and butcher. That is my report. OH

Yikes! I was thinking about Buck 103 not 113 my bad! Sorry to mess up your thread!

Not a problem Sir.

I received my 113 today when I got off work and WOW! I love it. Im a big ole fatboy with big hay hauling hands and it still fits great in hand, not like my 124 but still good. it has a really even smooth grind and its just pretty!lol

"Pretty" that about sums up the blade shape - first time I saw one I bought it - it looked too good to leave in the store! OH

I carry a BUCK Ranger Skinner #113 on a daily basis.

It is a sturdy knife. I am very happy with this knife!

I have the standard finish knife which I like very much. Buck makes them in some pretty custom finishes too.

My two top favorite knives are the Buck 113 and the Buck 119 Special!

Mine looks like this:

I didn't get the chance to actually hold one before I went ahead and bought one. So studying lots of pics and getting all the specs I pulled the trigger and am darn glad I did,Great knife for sure. Just about all of my Bucks have the 420HC or S30 V steel so I knew for sure what I was getting in that respect.

Since getting the 113 some of the people I work with are ordering one tonight because of the fact they really liked it.

I want to get a 113 from the Custom Shop as well, but those (bad) images of the custom scales makes it hard to decide on what to get.

If they replaced the whole handle, brass bolsters and all with a nice piece of textured g10, it would be a perfect hunting knife
