Last night I received my new Buck 124 Frontiersman from Post Falls. It was produced on 12/28/2020 which would have been my late wife's 69th birthday. I am so content with this knife, it is everything I hoped it would be and more. For my 2XL hands it is a perfect fit, the handle is made for every kind of secure grip and the blade is also excellent. I have so much confidence going forward with my new woodlands and everywhere companion. I am thankful for the Buck family in their being blessed to produce such a knife and make it affordable.

I am not ready to post images of her yet, but will share a video I have watched about forty times in the last couple of months waiting for this knife.
Today is my birthday although I don't like to celebrate birthdays but it is a landmark. I would like to augment this one with one with a wooden handle and one with the burgundy micarta.

The one with an ebony handle is in the new catalog as a "Legacy" model...
Thanks Steve for the heads up, will check that out immediately. Well it doesn't look like that will be available anytime soon...so it will be a wait and see. The catalog does have a lot of promise.

Happy Birthday. Congrats! I was pleasantly suprised with the 124 and how it felt in my large hands. Also feels light in hand for such a big knife. Agreed, a great knife for the price point.
Thanks Tigerden. Glad you enjoy the 124 too. I am excited to get her out in the woods and camping. Renewed all my hunting and fishing licenses today so I am ready to get at it. Happy Trails.

Of all the variations, versions, and interpretations of what a "Bowie Knife" may actually look like, the Buck 124 Frontiersman has always been my favorite. Buck got the lines down perfectly and made it nicely balanced for such a big knife. Eight years ago I was celebrating my 30th Anniversary with my company - I could chose any keepsake from the company I wanted - I picked this Buck 124 to commemorate that anniversary. Happy Birthday, you picked a fine knife! OH

Happy Birthday, Sky, have fun with your Frontiersman.
The 124 was the third Buck knife I found, first and second has been a 119.
These knives are the base of my modest Buck knife collection.
The 124 is the most impressing knife from the whole Buck production line.
When do you enter the Buck Collectors Club?

My first 124, found in Germany

Happy Birthday, skypeace, and congrats on your new 124! I'm sure your wife would be very happy for you too. :) Looking forward to your photos!

Thanks guys for all of the Birthday blessings....
I enjoy your 124 images, some have inspired me in the past.
Well cut myself pretty good last night with the 124 and that is always a good sign of an endearing relationship with a knife, lol.

I am just going to go ahead and say it, these Buck Knives just make me feel so blessed, I appreciate the folks that produce and make them, the people that make the decisions for their production, and the folks that also appreciate them by purchasing, using and collecting them.

Special thanks to all those that over the years have amassed information and compiled it so that a fairly old newbie codger could read up on the history and specifics of Buck Knives. Bless you all. Peace

Excellent photos, great comparison pics. Thanks. (PS. Love your pitbull ... I just found and read that 124 thread with the dog-hating bozo who thinks 124s are good for killing pitbulls ... you made dog-meat out of him). I'm looking for an old 122/124 but in the meantime might buy me a new 2021 Legacy 124. I'm not a micarta fan, and some of the ebonies look very nice. All the best.

I picked one up last April. Had some weird bone handle on it that was far from factory. I should list it. 122-124 inverted Buck.
Purely practice on my part.

I love the 124 with the exception of the handle. If I had the tools/skills to rehandle one to make it quite a bit thinner, it’d be a total winner in my book.
Very nice pics/knives, Mike. I’m always extremely impressed with the things you come up with out of your mushroom closet :)
