Buck 124 is not in 2023 dealer catalog but it is NOT discontinued despite rumors to the contrary...Buck wants the word out to the Buck community!

I was on the phone with Buck Customer service this morning on another matter and after Buck took care of that issue in a VERY VERY SATISFACTORY manner, I asked about the 124. Having see a most in the 119/124 thread that assumed the model was being discontinued because it was not in the 2023 dealer catalog.

I was informed that the 124 continues in production but is no longer a dealer item. They are and will continue to be available directly from Buck on line and in the Buck factory store. I was also told that Buck has the capacity to manufacture +/- 50 units a week. If they are unavailable on the Buck website...just go back later.

Oh thank heavens! Ive had one in my cart for a few days but haven't pulled the trigger since I just bought a Becker BK7. Good to know I can and WILL still get one in the future (near future hopefully).
 
Cool that they still make those. I've had one since 1986, goes with me on every hunting trip. Not the micarta but wood, maybe cocobolo?
 
Well, at least now I can actually use the phenolic version that I have tucked away and put the Legacy edition in the safe.

edit: that should have read "standard" version instead of "phenolic" as it comes with micarta slabs rather than phenolic.

This is the response I received from both Buck and the Buck dealer (Tacspo) here in Australia when I asked about this last November.
Not discontinued, just limited availability for the time being.
Second hand/used versions fetch eyewatering prices locally, if you can find one for sale at all.

I bought one about 6-7 years ago as it had been out of production for awhile and some were released, word was then that production would be intermittent or some SFOs. I ordered one at a pretty decent price and I’m glad i did. I had wanted one ever since I saw a Nocona Boot art ad like this one. F856F425-DC06-4960-AA7D-7C59A27CD7D9.jpeg
