Buck 186 (Ti 110) How rare are they and how much would it cost me to buy one?

yup sir ree the trip e is on the money...ave is currently 300 easy for one with box..
a few years ago you could pick one up for 125 tro 175
now if it is a 186 marked blade you will be lucky to snag one for 200
i have one and would not let it leave for 400... and it dont have the box !
some of late have sold with 110 blades in them for around 120 to 150..
and are user class.
but if it is a user then you want a 560 any way...
there are thoes that convert a 560 to take apart also...
560's hit highs of 120 and more a copple of years ago but now the fad is over and
they are even to be had at 40$ now...
some of us would loose on what what we paid if selling now...
market IS falling now on all but a few high class buck knives...

well grasshopper,
good question ...
some one good with data will pop up with production fig's
but to me ...
i think that it is a missguided function of lust and extream desire to own one..
it is an important issue as it was the first of the Ti's and the first take apart for buck..
it has every thing classic shape like a FG 110
the 112 hook and
space age high tech materals...
there were a lot of mods done at the factory...
i Had a lot of information i got shareing with a french man who collects probus and buck Ti's but lost it with a HD crash...
there are a lot of issues with much lower production figs
but this is one highly desired issue and a important one to boot...
i would not take 500 for mine unless it was a mater of medical emgerncy...
i also have a one of 6 prototype in parknised 440c and one of 3 with drop point
that was shown to probus for hole placement...and has a coa on that..
that one i have turned down 600+ for...
so most of them are in what is called "firm hands"
as it is not likely to be sold...

now that said there are
a LOT of dealers that read here and
with out fail
IF we here on the forum talk of desirability or collectability of a issue
you will see listings here and there on the net,,,
also you WILL see HIGH prices with thoes listings...
Beware! some of the high prices are due to shirilling
to run the price up as high as the market will bare...
that is why i heasate to talk on issues i dont have already in open forum..
i will email information on thoes i dont have but not broadcast...

I did a quick check and it looks like we did about 17,000 of them before the knife was redesigned. Thats kinda a lot but I think most of them got used since you dont see too many new in the box.

Hey 334Dave, how about some pictures of those prototype 186s?

Hey 334dave I noticed that the one with the 560 handle has a 110 blade in it, do you know if very many of them where made like that? I really like the pictures that you have displayed of your knives. Are you plannning to go to Idaho in July?
