Buck Celebrates 75th Anniversary of the Buck 119 - from Sporting Classics

I'd rather put the money toward an Alaskan Guide.

p.s.: I do like the 75th anvil tang stamp.

It's a shame they just put a handle shield on an otherwise standard 119 and put it in a tin box. I would have thought the 75th anniversary would have been something a little more special. Perhaps the "Guide" treatment or a stag, burl, or Micarta handle or something. Oh well...

Pretty tin, nice shield. For a collection or for someone that doesn't have a 119, this is okay. I need more or an offer I can't refuse.

My guess is this is just the first of many variations from many different sources - how many 50th Anniversary Buck 110 Folding Hunter variations are there? OH

Cate, I was in the Garner (Raleigh) store last week - they had them in stock, plenty of them. I imagine they will be in stock at most Cabela's by the big Thanksgiving shopping season. OH

I'm thinking about getting one I saw yesterday. Do you guys think it is worth the extra $18 it will cost me over a regular 119 Special (black handle)? I don't own a 119, but would like to have one. However, most of my knives get used. Seems to hold a collectible value I would need to keep it in the case, right? I only own about a dozen knives and am a newbie here. Maybe I get two? One anniversary to keep pristine, and a regular Special to use?

Thoughts and opinions?

Hi Oldschool,

All of the 119's made this year will have the 75th emblem inset in the handle. I saw that Cabelas was selling one with a tin, leather sheath so with the holiday discounts and free shipping I pulled the trigger.

It will go down like the 50th for the 110.

Hi Makael. I haven't been in this long. How did it go down for the 110? Does that mean there will be a lot more 119s to come in more variations this year?

The only thing I don't like about my 75th anniversary 119 is this little sticker on the bottom of the tin. (The knife is made in the USA. I just wish the whole package was, as well.)

The knife is not made in China which your post leans towards.

Well, I figured my post above with pictures of product labels that came with the knife which say the knife was made in the USA, indicated the knife was American made. I just meant that I was disappointed that the tin was from China. Sorry, if that comment was out of context and confusing. Makael -Thanks for pointing out my misleading statement - I've edited my post to be more specific.

Hey guys I just started seeing these show up at Walmart. They're priced at what they're pricing normal 119's. Have the 75th anniversary emblem on the handle, leather sheath, but no tin can.

All 119's made in 2017 will have the 75th tang stamp and the 75th emblem on the handle! The Cabela's tin was a Christmas promotion it's over. As for the 75th emblem there will be tens of thousands of them made this year in both phenolic and wood versions.
