In another thread, 300Bucks posted -

I have never been a groupy of anything but the flag and the Good Lord but dang it I am almost ready to get a BUCK knife tattoo...

Now, I'm not a tattoo collector like Marv, but I do have an unfinished USMC tattoo from Buzz in Oceanside/1970...

So...What does a Buck Knife Tattoo look like??? Maybe I'll finally get mine finished... :D

(There were four of us...all had been drinking...one suggested we get tats...Buzz did a little of a tat on each of us, instead of doing one complete on one of us...and having the other three sober up...) :p

Probably have a knife in it...what knife?? What pose?? What colors??

I got it! How about a 120 stickin' out of a slice in the flesh, drippin' blood, with the tip stickin' out t'other side?

Whoa...For just a second there, I thought you were going to suggest "stickin' out of a can of Spam"... :D

Trax,

Now don't hold me to that statement. I was using it as a heart felt expression of support to Buck, since tattoos are sorta forever I look on one as a major decision in your life. Forever in the flesh one way or the other. I expect and will always hope that Buck is the same - forever... Not even breast extensions are that forever... Maybe if we were twenty, lubricated well and were full of who-rah we could strut down to Buzz's. If things get so bad they start forming us old grey heads into fighting units I say lets all get a dose of ex-lax and go for it.....crossed 120s with a 301 rider and old glory stretched between the blades....

I have an old paperback book by H. Beam Piper with a pretty cool knife/skull emblem...lemme see if I can find it... :p

Probably screwed up your thread trying to be silly. I have no tattoo's and want no tattoo's, personal choice. I also gave consideration to the teddybear that Radar O'Reilly had done on his bum in the old MASH TV series. How about a very small, 301, similar to the tie tack that you see on eB*y. Actually, I do have many friends who are heavily tattooed and when they're showing off their latest, I always walk away shaking my head to their choice of designs. I guess I'll just support Buck by carrying one in my pocket, or two or three.

120,Did someone say 120? No I don't think so.

Leviticus 19:28.....

I agree with Jack.

Ha! You mean half the posts in this Forum *aren't* silly??? :p

I've never had a problem with tattoos...except it took quite a while to have a decent one done (~38 years ago)...I just never got back to Buzz (after WestPac Ground Forces, they discharged me in Philly! - I had to *drive* home!) and there weren't any tattoo parlors in this area until about the late 80's, I'd say...maybe 90's...when party girls started getting moon/sun, butterfly, rose tats etc...

I should have got one in Philly...good big Navy town; friendly to military...I was just anxious to get the #%^& out!!! :D

I got it! How about a 120...

Yeah, that's good! Something like this, but with a 120 sticking diagonally through it...

...And "BCCI" and your life number over it...and "The Edge. For Life." underneath... :)

LOL! There's a new Buck slogan in there someplace.........

"Buck Knives.....Like a bad tattoo......with you forever!"

rudder go ahead and enter it! you may make CJ laff a lot!
now trax did you forget that buck ?

I always thought of getting the ol blacksmith pounding the buck knife out on the forging block,to me that is the symbol of buck knives, not any new slogan or picture will ever be an Icon symbol like that.

Hey Dave, Naw, just being goofy. Sometimes that's what I do for a living!

Jack

The blacksmith would be good. I want one like Radar's on MASH--you know, one that will come off next spring when I take a shower!!

Leviticus 19:28.....Uh oh...I never knew about that verse! I dont have any tats now but was planning to get one when I complete something I have on my bucket list. (another story).
I did see a guy, who is a distant relative to Chuck, who had a full sized 119 in the middle of his back. It looked COOL! My wife said dont even think about it!
For me, if I was into that sort of thing, it would have to be the 184 Buckmaster.

I didn't know about that one either! I don't have any but have teased my wife that I wanted to get a flag on one bicep and Jesus on the other, guess that wouldn't really fly with that Bible verse! Actually, one time when my wife and I were talking about it, she said something to the effect that tattoos were so permanant and what if we needed to disappear for some reason, it would give us away! I had actually considered that myself but how many wives think like that?!
