Hey all. First post here. Great forum, guys and gals.

I received my first Buck knife the other day... A Buck 110FG. Directly from Buck, by the way. This thing is prestine. It's centered. It's tight. The rivets are perfect. It's just sheer perfection.

However, the black leather sheath came with a tiny sticker on the inside of it saying, "Made in Mexico." The sheath says "BUCK" on the front and "110" on the back bottom. It's single stitched. Since when were the sheaths manufactured in Mexico?

Buck outsourced the making of the leather sheaths several years ago. It's a shame but, they get the job done cheaper than it can be done in the US. just be glad it's not being manufactured in China.

Thanks. Yeah I think I'm on my way to ordering an aftermarket sheath. One that's at least double stitched. I'll just oil this one up real good and call it good :)

Mexico has a long tradition of making leather products, the ones that have come with my recent Buck knives have been fine (I would assume they are made to Buck's high standards) - wish everything was USA made, but at least the bulk of the knives still are! OH
