What do you all think of this knife:

Buck Legacy Collection 110 S45VN blade steel, Marble Carbon Fiber Handles with Gray Aluminum Bolsters - Limited Edition. it seems to be a limited edition for 2021 only. I think it is a great looking knife. The pictures of the marbled carbon fiber are amazing. S45VN is a great new steel for us to play with. At $200 or so, this knife isn't cheap, but it looks more expensive than its price. It even has screwed together construction!

I bought one and like it quite a bit. Love the blade shape. Not a big fan of the thumb studs but perhaps that's just arthritis talking? Great knife imho.

That type of knife i would imagine will sit in a collection. Maybe a few will be used here and there but I doubt many. Great collector piece.

I guess what makes most of the standard knives Buck has made for years easy to use is the fact that they can be brought back to new with a spa treatment and or blade replacement. I would imagine some models that would be very hard to do the spa treatment on.

I’d like to get one but I’m not into carbon fiber. I’d rather have a micarta or textured dymawood scales. Also I’m waiting to see what the feedback is for s45vn and if it’s worth the extra cost. I think it would be a great edc work knife.

I ordered one of these when I saw them in the 2021 catalog back in early January from my Buck dealer. I'm still waiting, I contacted my dealer and he said Buck will not even return emails to answer his questions as to when they will fill these orders? I also, contacted Buck via email and have no response as to when I can expect this knife order to be filled. A bit disheartening as Buck is selling these on their web site and not filling their longtime dealer orders. I'm a bit frustrated as this feels like the same Buck customer service as the BCCI take apart 112 deal I paid for and waited for a year then got sent my money back due to a canceled order. Only to have Buck then sell that same knife off their web site a few months after the 112 order was canceled. I would just Like Buck INC answer the question as to when this order placed in January will be filled and shipped?

I’m not sure what the relationships that user to be in place. Does the interactive chat even work anymore in the website? I’ve been checking and no luck since Kevin isn’t there anymore.

jb4570 - I too have been waiting months for a couple of these through the distributor I get knives from. It just doesn't make sense. I will eventually get a couple I am sure.

same here. got two on order and order has been slowly coming in....but not these.

That's the beauty of the modular knife. If you don't like the blade, change it. Same with the handle. Pocket clips and thumb studs can be added or subtracted.View attachment 1571907
Some blades work fine. Most do not. Either too tight or loose. Every combo I’ve tried has had a certain degree of sacrifice in action.

I have had a few problems with blade exchanges where bushings and blades were not matched for thickness. It's best to keep blades together with their original bushings. Most problems arise with aftermarket blades that are sold without bushings.
However, the Legacy and the Club knife do not require a bushing in the blade, and the pivot is adjustable. The only extra step is a little blue LocTite to hold the adjustment when the sweet spot is found.

The black paint on the red micarta take apart can cause issues as well.

Black paint can mess anything up, but it’s not too hard to remove ( from the pivot). You NEVER want a blade swinging on painted surfaces.

Vibratite Vc3thread locker is ideal for this application. You apply it to the threads and let it dry before assembly. Then it retains its thread locking ability through many on off cycles. Making it so you can adjust the screw without loosing the thread lock. Plus it’s not a liquid when you instal the screw so there is no chance of it seeping into the pivot.

Sent me on a web search. I never heard of this stuff before. It won't replace my use of Loctite blue (and occasionally red), but for items that you might want to make small adjustments to, this stuff looks great. Good info

Will check it out. Thanks.

Great info.

I've been waiting for a Buck 110 takeapart to be released with a good looking bolster and screws (I don't like aluminum and I think Cerakote should be taken behind the shed and shot), so that I could put in a new blade and make a bunch of scales that I could swap in and out. With the blade swaps being hit or miss, it sounds like I need to wait for one to release with a steel I really like too. This could be a long wait. :/
