Buck M4 Bayonet for carbine

I'm not a bayonet expert by any means but wasn't the M4 a WW2 produced bayonet? Buck incorporated in 1961, that would be 16 years after the war ended.

edit.... just found a reference that Camillus produced some during the Korean war in early 50's

Hoyt Buck made some knives for soldiers going off to fight in WWII, none of them were for the M1 Carbine.

I feel like I've been taken on a date and kissed without getting dinner... In other words, a thread without pictures is like, wait a minute, I almost forgot that this is a family forum.

Some eyes here couldn't ID a bayonet (originating in Bayonne, France when Columbus set sail for the New World) and some eyes here saw bullets fired from their M1s bounce off the quilted clothing of Korean/Chinese soldiers. Here is what one M1 bayonet looks like:
