i was wondering how is it for a $15.00 slip joint? i just ordered it since i got a gift card to cabelas and i dont have any slip joints ( i will soon get some case knives :D). i figured it would be good as an edc since it shouldn't look frightening to the "average joe"... anyway if any of you have it how do you like it is my main question and is it worth $15.00 overall?

NOT MY PIC... but this is the Buck Solo for anyone who has not seen it:

I have one, and it is an AWESOME little knife for 15 dollars!!
Small enough to not be intimidating.
Large enough to fit in your hand.
Buck's legendary quality applies here as well, so you get a blade that sharpens well, and holds an edge for a long time.
Goes right down into your pocket and makes you forget it's there, until you need it.
My daughter picked a red wood one out for me a few years ago, and I absolutely love.
I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Voltron, I remember this story about your small daughter picking that knife for you. As you have continued using it so long says something bouth about Bucks quality and the bounds between children and parents. May I ever see them in Sweden I will by two of them and give to my sons.

NirreBosse, I have three knives I carry with me that have sentimental value for me. The Solo that my daughter picked out for me is one. I also carry my Vic Cadet, which was in my pocket when my wife gave birth to my second daughter. It was a pretty crazy day, with my wife's water breaking at my mother's house, two weeks early. We did a lot of running around, and the memories I have of the next two days is tied in with all the women in my life (my wife, two daughters, and mother). And the third knife I carry a lot is my Schrade 108OT. That one also has an interesting memory attached. I took my wife to her first ever gun and knife show. She was very pregnant with my second daughter (the one that came two weeks early), and we had our older daughter there as well. I remember my daughter was scared because the vendors were demonstrating a taser, and the noise was scaring her. We pass a display, and they had US made Schrades. I looked at them, and then walked on. About an hour later, my wife made me go back to the vendor who had the Schrades, and made me buy one. She said she new if I didn't, I would never shut up about it. LOL. Anyway, I found the small 108OT, and paid the $10 for it and dropped it in my pocket.
My wifejust shook her head and smiled as we walked away. I asked her what she was smiling at, and she said "You and your knives. Did you really need to buy another one?"
I said no, but that I didn't buy a knife anyway.
I bought a memory.

The Solo is a very high value, over seas produced knife. If you're looking for a single bladed pen knife, you can't go wrong.

Its a great little knife. I got the solo along with a 371 as a package. These Chinese Bucks are very well made. I have been carrying a 373 trio for the last couple weeks now.
