I picked one of these up today as a gift for 20$. It seems like it is an older knife but I never have seen one of these before. Can someone give me some info on it such as when it was made and maybe how much these cost new?

Those buck tools were pretty fancy looking.
Unfortunately it had a rather clumsy opposing folded handle design.
The structural strength of its handles were never on par with
The leatherman or gerbers of the period.
When depressing upon the fully extended handles,
They felt rather springy.
Also this handle design is not ideal for plier jobs
Which required tough twisting motions.
It doesn't take to kindly to really hard twist.
And extended handles can be severely deformed
by manually back twisting the handles the wrong way.

The bucklite was a slightly smaller and lighter version with less blade tools
Than its predecessor, the bucktool.
In all, they held much promise but was let down by its handles which
IMHO was a design flaw which ended the short life of buck's pliertool venture.
It's a nice piece of buck history to own now.
