Budget folders, which would work best as a work knife?

So I lost my Buck 110 after a year plus of faithful service as a work knife. I’ve decided on two folders to buy to replace it. The two knives in question are the lockback Buck 722 Spitfire in 420HC and the button lock Civivi Incindie in 14C28N. Which knife would be more reliable as a work knife? Durability and reliability are the main concerns, with edge retention and ease of sharpening being secondary. Thanks everyone!

If it is just between the two you listed, I'd go with the Civivi as I really don't like the looks of the Spitfire. That's sad because the Buck is US made.

I gifted my son a Spitfire in 2018! He’s notoriously hard on tools and it has served him well. He did mention the handle was a little slippery, but YMMV. I’ve never personally carried a Civivi but I have bought a few as gifts with quality being above par for the price point.

I actually bought both. I bought one for a work knife, and one for a light weight carry. My other folders are a MC Hinderer PX and a full size Benchmade Adamas which are pretty heavy for folders and too expensive in case of loss. I’m a fixed blade guy, and really don’t know much of anything about folders.

I’m probably leaning toward the spitfire as a work knife, seems sturdy enough!

Of the two, I think I would go with the Civivi. Button locks are pretty fast and handy when you get used to them

Civivi all the way. That blade steel is one of my all time favorites. I had a Spitfire and didn’t like it much.
Civivi does a pretty good job with it's 14c28n, I have an Elementum Button Lock and it's a great knife, easy to resharpen and takes a great edge.

OP, I can't chime in to your question as I don't own or have ever handled any of the knives you mentioned. But what about a Spyderco Tenacious?

I have a PM2 in CTS-BD1N, it’s a nice knife but it sits in a drawer. I do like Spyderco, but they were never at the top of my list. The tenacious never really appealed to me, but I appreciate your suggestion!

The thing for me with a work folder is the ease and speed which I can pull it out of my pocket. Use it then put it back.

Which means i don't open it use it and put it down somewhere for the next cutting task. Then either loosing it or cutting myself.

So I tend to carry civivi with those quicker systems like button locks.
