Not sure if this is the right place to put it , but they sell a bourbon called Buffalo trace at my local bottle o , I've been drinking it for years . I was just wondering , is this a low end or middle of the road bourbon in America?

I just bought my first bottle of this stuff. Considering price and taste I would say a little better than middle of the road.

On a scale of 1-10 I would place Buffalo trace at a 4.5.

That's just my opinion.. If you like it, and it tastes like a 10..then it's a 10.

My favorite..out of the hundreds I have tried is Elmer T. Lee. It's the best 35.00 bourbon on the planet. IMHO

I typically purchase 20-40$ bourbons. I think BT is a great everyday pour and worth it. There is a YouTube video about how the make it, that video made me try it and I've been happy since.

Hey can somebody tell me what is the best bang for the buck , so to speak, for bourbon?

I like gentleman Jack because it is smooth and coal filtered...I don't even know what that means. I just like it. But besides that I don't have much of a knowledgeable palate for bourbon. So if anyone can suggest something next time I go to the liquior store I would like to try something like the gentleman Jack with a affordable price point.

I live on the Bourbon Trail and love to drink bourbon on a regular basis. Buffalo Trace is a middle shelf bourbon and you could do a lot worse for a daily pour. I agree with Harleyguy02, Elmer T. Lee may be the best right now at under $40 a bottle (word's out and it's getting hard to find). Here are some others to try at under $40 per bottle:
1. Eagle Rare
2. Wild Turkey Rare Breed
3. Knob Creek Single Barrel
4. Four Roses Single Barrel
5. Woodford Reserve

If you ever want to splurge, try to hunt down a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 15 year. Definitely a special occasion bourbon but your life will never be the same. Cheers!

I like all the Four Roses bourbons I've had. The regular is a good lower-cost option and the small batch is great. Haven't had the single barrel yet.

Also really like Knob Creek.

Bulleit and Buffalo Trace are a step below these two for me personally but still very drinkable.

If I'm mixing it with something I'll pick up a handle of Jim Beam.

Sounds like the Elmer T. Lee is worth trying out, I'll keep my eyes open for a bottle.
