Bulldog knives

I have a 2007 Bulldog Gunstock that I believe is made by Queen. The scales are burnt stag and the blades are 1095 carbon steel. It looks like this.... http://www.fulmerphoto.com/bulldog/...g_2_of_100_Gunstock_USA_Made_Genuine_Stag.jpg
I didn't take the picture, but mine looks about the same. Very well made knife. The fit and finish is actually better than all of my Queen knives. The price was about $85 in '08.

Here's one for sale at collectorknives.net http://www.collectorknives.net/bulldog.html
It's about half way down the page on the left side ($99).

My older(2004 ?) Bulldog Sowbelly Stockman has beautiful stag, but the fit and finish is horrible. The main blade whacks the backspring when you close the knife. There's always a 1/4" flat spot on the bevel even when you ease the blade shut.

The Queen made Bulldogs are very good knives.

The original Dorton era Bulldogs are as good as any production slippie ever made.

The current ones are what they are.

I've had nothing but bad luck with the Bulldogs I've purchased but they were middle to late nineties vintage. They were reasonably attractive knives but the steel and/or heat treat was wanting.

Thanks all! I just ordered a 2006 Stockman from Parkers and I was worried about the quality of the new stuff. Thanks again!

I have heard tell that some current Bulldogs are actually Great Easterns, the liner locks that is.
