I don't see that coming anytime soon -- :D I couldn't afford the steel, and I sure wouldn't want to hand-sand the stuff! ;)
 
I see. Thanks. Is Bohler N690 more expensive than ATS-34 or S30V? Or is there a minimum purchase price that's too ambitious? Having only had errant thoughts about M2, L6, and S30V, I wouldn't know about the imported steels. Having never acted on those first thoughts, I don't know about USA steels, either.
 
Actually, I have no idea what it would cost an individual to buy but it wouldn't be cheap (no high-end steel is). I don't have an oven, so I stick with carbon steels so I can heat-treat them myself.
 
I have been told that N690 is more expensive than S30V and much more than ATS-34. High end steel with the properties of N690 are not cheap!
 
I'm very happy with the performance of my Nemesis, but, at .23" thick, it'd be the rare steel that didn't do well. Just the same, I'm glad to have the rarer steel that is excellent.
