Hi I ordered a butterfly knife from knifezilla (dot) com.
I was wondering if it would make it here safely.
Have any of you good people of the forums had any trouble with knifezilla?

Welcome to Bladeforums. :)

Butterfly knives are illegal in Canada, and so, it is a violation of our rules to discuss importing or selling them there. Please read the rules of the balisong forum, especially the excerpt below. Although this is from the balisong forum, it sums up a sitewide rule.

Forum Rules -- Read Before Posting

ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES are not to be promoted here. Balisong knives are illegal in many areas. Please don't discuss evading the law... including Customs regulations on importing balisongs into the US or other countries. Open discussions about evading Customs just forces Customs to crack down. There is no need to draw their ire or their attention.

He was just asking if they are illeagal. He wasn't trying to get around it, or discuss how to get around it. Lighten up Esav.

As Esav said, they are illeagal in Canada. You could try and cancel your order before they ship it. I don't really know what else to do other than return it if they have already shipped it. I ordered once from them, and had no problems. I got everything I ordered, and within a week or so, but I remember reading on here that other people have had problems with them. Generally that site is disliked here I believe, and I only ordered from them the one time, which was a couple of years ago. I don't know how this would be seen in canada, but if you want to get into flipping, and not just an EDC knife, you could just order a trainer. It will be exactly like a real balisong, but the blade is duller than a butter knife. If you have any questions as to knife laws your best bet is to ask the local LEO. Although, they don't always know their own laws, but they would still be the ones to ask.

Lighten up? He already ordered a butterfly knife to be shipped to Canada. I am not an agent of the Canadian government. But I am an agent of Bladeforums and it's my responsibility to inform people of our regulations: we do not promote or support illegal activity.

He wasn't asking if it was illegal. He was asking if his vendor would be able to circumvent Canadian Customs.

as has already been stated, butterfly knives are ILLEGAL to import, own, posses, and use in Canada.

another issue with ordering illegal items is your name will now be on the hot list, any future letters, parcels, etc WILL be puled aside for inspection.

Yep.
Best not to screw with the illegal items.
There's SO many legal knives that it ain't worth the hassle.
