Gifted this for Christmas by a neighbor.... I mistakenly thought it was an
Alaskan Ulu blubber blade. On line found the identical "cabbage chopper"
with raised embossed C.F. Mfg. Co. .... a little research located a foundry
in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. In use from approx. 1890 - 1900...then re-purposed.
They made sad irons for the nearby famous Ober foundry (sad irons, trivets,
lathes etc. ). Have not cleaned up yet, but did put an edge on and used to
chop bacon for the baked potato. What a great kitchen tool. A well made survivor.
Retail vintage seem to draw $40- $50. What a cool addition ! I dig it.

As always... if you have any other insights please share. I think I'm accurate but
have made mistakes before.....
