Hey all, I just recently purchased a Vic cadet. It's about 20yrs since I last owned a SAK and figured I should get back into them. I like the cadet a lot. It is however a bit smaller than I had expected. I also considered the farmer, but I'm wondering now if it is too close in size to the cadet. Ideally I would like something maybe half an inch longer. Any thoughts?

Farmer is about 1/3 inch longer (93mm vs. 84mm), but significantly thicker, both due to thicker tools and scales, as well as the addition of a wood saw. If you do not need a wood saw, the Pioneer would be the SAK for you.

I love the Cadet. For a larger knife, look at the Electrician. It gives you two blades, one a sheepfoot.

I agree with ufox9al. If you don't need a saw, the Pioneer might be what you're looking for. My Pioneer is consistently in my pocket more than any knife I own.
