For years, my parents used their wedding cake knife for all of our birthday cakes and for other special occasions. That knife was nothing expensive, but it was a nice tradition that they continue even now. Now that I have two sons of my own, I am thinking about doing this also. However, I have really been considering something nicer than our wedding cake knife, as it is also not particularly fancy or expensive.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice knife (or maybe one for each child) that could be used for this purpose, and eventually passed along to them when they are older? I don't have a specific budget in mind, but I can't go too crazy with this. Maybe less than $200? Thanks for any suggestions!
