Hello everyone. I don't know if this is the right place for this thread, but it seems to fit well here. The California Custom Knife Show is coming up in a couple weeks, and this will be my first time attending. I was wondering if any of you that have attended could share some insight on good stuff to look out for there, or just share some experiences about having been there before. (Particularly any lesser known knife makers that are worth looking at). Also, if there are any of you on here that will be attending this year, let me know and we can meet up there and say hello. Thanks!

I will be there! It's my first time as well, and I'm very excited.
Check out Brian Tighe, and Mr. damascus- Suchat customs.

I'll be there! Met some of the nicest people there.... Not sure who'll be there (knifemakers) other than the regulars.

Also, something I forgot to mention. I'll be going there hoping to spend somewhere around 200-300$. From your experience, is there usually anything good there around that price range?

I think I may be going also. It will be my first time also. I was going to try to meet up with Poolhustler at the show if he's still planning on going. Looking forward to Rick Hinderer's items & lottery.

I expect to be going Saturday if anyone wants to carpool. I'm not that far from either Busted-Knuckle or Theblackrhino. I can be emailed/pm'ed from my user name or profile. I will be checking out Rick Hinderer, but not spending any money as I bought a spanto from him on Friday that should be here in the morning. I am also going to check out Brian Tighe as I want to meet the man behind my Tighe Coon. Chris Reeve should be there as well as he's good friends with Plaza Cutlery.

Thanks for the carpool offer 1shot1kill, I'll let you know about that. I'm in Moreno Valley as well. Yes, there's a pretty big list of makers on the webpage for it, and a lot of them I don't recognize, so I'm looking forward to checking them out.

Possibly a factory knife from Protech. They are usually there. Customs usually start in the $600-$1000 range.

For example, Emerson knives if drawn are around $650/$750. John Young's knives are all $1000+ as are Ruples. Ralph May have a few in the $700-$900 range. Bottom line... You are probably a little short.

Well, that's alright. Even if I don't go home with something, I'll still have gotten to handle some nice custom knives.

I'm there on Saturday. I recommend you check out Erick Kramer's table.

I'm going to be tagging along with Scott Babb founder of the Libre Fighting System. A street based combatives system, the man is a legend in some circles... Be sure to say hi.

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing all you guys there tomorrow, and if you see me, I'm the guy with the long hair.
