How do folks feel about the policy of "not interfering" with exchange posts? I saw someone post a knife for 50% more than what you can purchase it for new, so I mentioned it directly on the post and got a warning for it.

Do other people feel like we should be able to call out these kind of shenanigans?

Buyer beware - simple as that. Don't buy stuff off the web drunk is another good rule of thumb. WE ALL AGREE that scalping is a pretty scum of the earth sales tactic but if they get away it's the buyers ignorance, lust, laziness, or the like, that is the ultimate cause. We don't want BF to become a pricing police.

AND - I think you'd be surprised how many people would abuse the "power" to call out others. Pricing - especially in the secondary market can be very subjective. Do you call out for 15% over what "you think" is a fair price? What is a decent or fair mark up? There are some brand/makers who sell all their knives at stupid high prices in my opinion - when they get to the 2nd market the prices can be even more out of control. I just walk away. You just walk away too. No comment!

My 2¢.

Depends on if there were conditions attached to the original purchase when the knife was new, as in what was done with this years forum knife. Scalpers / flippers were called out in the forum knife thread. However, there is nothing illegal about charging more for something. If somebody buys something that is priced above the MSRP thats their choice...Knives sell for 2 or 3 times the original price every day. Try to buy any GEC knife for anything close to what the original owner paid.

These are the rules for the forum. They are approved by the site owner and not open for debate.

Sellers may ask what they may...potential buyers can choose to purchase or move on. What they can't do is kick up a fuss in the thread:

  1. Do not post in a person's thread unless you have an implicit interest in buying the item. Posts like, "Nice knife!", "Why is the price so high/low?", "I wish I had funds" are not allowed. This means absolutely no commentary or feedback in someone's sales thread. Seriously, if you stomp on someone's ad, your account can and will be locked. The only exception to this is in the Knife Makers Market areas (if the maker/craftsman requests and welcomes feedback). Save questions and offers for email rather than cluttering the thread.
