I use a HAWG on my daily basis a a university student. As i do most of my learning, reading and other work at home I usualy don´t carry a lot of books/ files with me so that there is more room for more important stuff. The Hawg is just big enough for something to eat and drink, a lightweight jacket and sweater, my Filofax and a small first aid-kit. A nice organizer front pocket offers plenty of room for knives, pockettool, cellphone, minimaglite, pens and some other essentials. It is very well build from tough 1000Den Cordura and offers some features that might come in handy e.g.stowable waistbelt, velcro strap management, compression straps .
So far so good, but there are some points that I don´t like to much. Camelbaks and especialy the military issued ones seem to be build for quite big people, when I don´t put on the sternum strap it just seems to not fit realy comfortable.
As I suffer from SBS(sweaty back syndrom) in warm weather i need a well ventilated back but imo the Air Director system doesn´t work too well for me. An other thing I was wondering about is the zipper on the front pocket, i guess in this price category you could expect it to be covered to be fairly weatherproof.
Another drawback is the padded back which also works as an insulation for the reservoir. As it was build to store up to 6 ltr there is a big fold in it when empty, that is, you are not able to get it really plain so that it will use some of the rare space an sometimes makes it difficult to get stuff out of your pack.
