Camillus 1 pruning knife info?

I recently purchased a Camillus #1 pruning/hawkbill knife at a yard sale. It has 3 line tang stamp and real wood scales with brass liner lock. My curiosity is regarding the scales... Two different colors, one looks like walnut the other looks more like ebony. Were some scales like this from factory? Or would one be a replacement? I am a new member... I am having difficulty adding any photos

Some possibilities: Handle replacement or could have been stored or displayed where only one side exposed to light and handle darkened or different species of wood and wood aged differently. Probably never have a definite answer.
