thanks, I looked at the knife zilla page and I was wondering if anyone had any idea if the MGC Tanto Butterfly @ $42.95 would be a good knife. I don't know much about the quality of those knives so if you know please tell me or email me.
 
If you get a Bear MGC, expect the handles to break eventually. It's just design flaw. If you get a Jaguar, expect the pins to break shortly. It's just a design flaw. Clay's balisongxtreme site has nice instructions about fixing pins. Jags have heavier, thicker handles. It's a matter of preference.

As for blade profile, I find Tanto's rather "top heavy" and hard to get a lot of speed with. Others swear by 'em.

I have a Bear MGC 116. Never had a problem with it. No broken handles or pins after flipping it everyday for 5 months. Not to mention dropping it about 50+ times. Either I don't flip(or drop) it as hard as other people or Bear is making better quality balis. Only one complaint(actually two). The handles aren't finished very well. Uneven coats and a lot of scratches and you might have to adjust the latch to prevent unintentional lockup.
 
Bear MGC Tanto?!?! YEUCK!!! Well I wont whine here you can go to my page for that. but if you want to get a tanto you can get it real cheap I think 30.00 somewhere else.. and it's the damascus model too! Uhm.. i forgot the URL but oh well.. you'll probably.. oh .. ugh brain freeze.

Sniperboy is referring to www.budkww.com They sell it for $36.95. But if you don't live in the 48 contiguous states then you're going to have to pay $15+ for shipping!
