Can you bead blast carbon fiber?

I have a ZT 0452CF and the handles feel too smooth to me. I sanded them with 600 grit and it helped a little but not much. Some of my knives with CF are kind of grippy like the Spyderco Sage1, the Lionsteel TRE and my Boker Urban Trapper.

So I was wondering if I dare try bead blasting the ZT. Is that a good idea or would it mess it up good? I've heard carbon fiber splinters suck and I thought I'd seek some advice before I try this.

Thanks

Since no one offered advice as of yet why not remove the scales and try it on the inside? My ZT 0770CF is to slippery for me as well. Let me know how you make out if you try it. Good luck.

I'd try 400 grit then 320 before bead blasting.

As rpttrsn suggested, whatever you do, try it on the underside first.

CF a a material can be pretty intolerant of post production change.

Can you just find a G10 or similar scale to swap on?

I for one like the looks and weight of CF but it is very slippery on these knives. It seems that some other mfg., using carbon fiber, supply it witha less slippery/smooth grip. I think the petrosil might be looking for the same thing I am. Other material would be a option.

I might just try that. I was hoping to get a definitive answer but if not then I may try that this weekend. I'll post the results if I do.
