Can you wear a Tek-Lok or MOLLE Lock on a regular BELT?

I use large Tek-Loks on my 2" wide leather belt all the time. They have movable/removable stops to adjust to the width of just about any belt.

Tek lok, large one ......it appears so. The holes on my esee 5 sheath look really close. Possibly exact, but I didn't try it on, rather just lined it up. As for a regular belt, tek lok has a plastic shim you can adjust to match your belt width. So yep. Not sure on molle, I was too lazy to dig mine out and look at it, but tech lok makes more sense to me. Its designed for belts. Molle lock is designed for molle setup, right?

Thanks, i just did some googling and looks like only 1 side of the Tek-lok will fit.. bummer

Anyway, I use the Tek-Lok so I can easily attach sheaths/holsters to my belt quickly and securely, without taking the belt off. It works exactly as advertised, and is very sturdily built.

sorry i wasnt clear. you only do one side not both. one side works fine. Im too lazy to take a pic and upload it to my photo hosting site. look around and youll see you only use one side unless the sheath and knife are super skinny.;)

It works I got a handful of large fixed blades with sheaths with tek loks and all use one side and they are solid as a rock. You don't need all 4 holes fastened.

Haha okay, thanks a lot

On a fold over (taco style) Kydex sheath, can't you only do one side anyway, even if you are using a plate for the Molle clips?

Can I buy an Tek-LOK or an Molle lock for an Esee-5 sheath and attach it to my belt?

As a general rule, don't use MOLLE-Loks on a belt. They're not made to take the stress of bending and will pop the tabs. If you need something wider than a large TL, have something made or try paracord (which is what I use myself).

Can you link me to a guide to making a paracord belt loop (Sorry i don't know whats it called) for an esee-5?

Couple pics in here to give a general idea. Here's the PDF for the 3 with a pic. I'm sure there's some 5 specific ones in the ESEE archive or you could ask on their forum, but the idea applies to any sheath. Just adjust accordingly.

Another idea is to make a square out of kydex or whatever, bolt it to the sheath holes, and use it as a belt sheath.

Tek Loks are a heaven send for wearing kydex on your belt. I love the way my 3 fits.
