So in the last couple days I have found a weird glitch with the login. When I pull up the home page and hit the login button the pop up box does not appear.

If i go into a sub thread or individual post and hit the login button the normal popup box shows.

This is on 2 separate laptops so I don't think it's a settings or cookies issue. It's not the end of the world but the site isn't functioning normally.

You're not alone. On my PC I need to log in every time, even when I check the "stay logged in" box. I never logged out in the first place.

Same issue on Chrome on PC starting today but on Safari on iPhone it’s fine.

Same thing on my ipad and Macbook and iMac.

Ditto  ... exactly my experience

...on the bright side, I get to view an ad for a badazz '69 1/2 Super Bee every time before I log in

No problems running Firefox on a Linux machine.
Could be a corrupted cookie.
Try:
Log out.
Clear your browser's cookies
Close the browser.
Then open the browser and log in.

No luck last time and even flushed the cache too.

Part two of weird. Id just let myself time out and then go to the home page I can get the log in box to open. But not if my browser memory is empty.

It did not help me either, but I noticed that when I open bladeforums I need to click on Forums and then it's like I'm already logged in. It began few days back.

Both Firefox and Edge affected.

Having same issue using Chrome, but not on FireFox. FireFox works fine. I also notice that if I click on Register first, then from the Register page I can click on Login and be successful. Also finding that the Stay Logged In option is not working for me. When I close and reopen Chrome, I must login all over again. On FireFox, everything is working fine.

Check if your using https version of website. Http is causing such issues.

Good call... I don't think I was. https does seem to be working. Fired up Chrome and https for bladeforums and I was still logged in. Nice! Thank you

The software should automatically redirect http to https. IIRC, It worked like that before. Did Bladeforums change host or server recently by any chance?

I don't use http any more, so I have no idea, however, my experiences extend pre-this past weekend.

Found the issue, It happens with both Win 10 firefox and Win10 Chrome. I can't be certain it is a BF issue. Spark would know for sure.
This also happens using Win 7. And it happens on Firefox for Android. It does not happen when using Firefox on Linux.

Default setting in Firefox for Windows is to accept both HTTP and HTTPS sites.
Currently, when you type in www.bladeforums.com, it takes you to the HTTP: version of the site. And the login popup won't function.
If you type in https://www.bladeforums.com the log in popup works using either Firefox or Chrome for Win 10.

Two fixes:
  1. I'm sure you have a shortcut to BF. Edit the shortcut so that instead of www.bladeforums.com, it links to https://www.bladeforums.com
  2. Another way is to go into Firefox options
    Click "Privacy & security"
Down at the bottom, set the radio button for "HTTPS only mode"
