Hey everyone,

Hopefully this will be the right area to post this in ... thought I might get more responses here ... if not let me know I'll repost or have a Mod move it.

I have been looking to buy another knife ... I found it in the blade material and blade grind I am looking for but saw they offer it in a Canvas Micarta Matte and also in a Burlap Micarta.

I have several knives in Canvas and even Linen Micarta ... but I have no experience with Burlap Micarta ... I was hoping for some that have used both Canvas and Burlap Micarta give me your impressions and thoughts about the Burlap vs Canvas ...

Does the Burlap offer a different grip ? Better grip ... worse or similiar? ... and how do the two compare in durability? Any other things I should know about Burlap Micarta?

I have always leaned towards Canvas over Linen Micarta ... but the Burlap Micarta is completely new to me ... so any experiences or thoughts shared would be very much appreciated.

Thanks JJ

I'm sure you'll get much better answers but to me, the big difference is the amount of resin vs cloth.
Burlap has much lower thread count so more resin fills in the spaces.

Haven't had issues with either but the canvas stuff I have just seems stronger.

I like both quite a bit. They are both grippy, and grippy when wet, which is important in the area I live. I prefer both of them over linen Micarta.

Thanks for the responses ...

I much prefer canvas over linen but have never had burlap ... I was wondering about it being rougher and more porous if it might not hold up as well as canvas if worn through heavy brush rubbing on it alot.
